Why

I think that there is a distinct personal feeling one has when they see something that to them is appealing. The purpose for my work is to transform the beauty of exotic woods into something with shape and make it appealing. I offer my work to those who like that feeling and would like to own one of my pieces.

How

To make the work I offer, I use the natural elements and the beauty of exotic wood. To be honest, it sometimes feels like cheating because a large measure of the work is furnished by nature. Nevertheless, I start with nature’s design and move to a point as close to perfect as possible, always knowing that the best you can do is get close. Salvador Dali´said; “Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.”

End

By observing the things around me, by modeling them in my mind and refashioning them with my hands, I try to create simple things so they can be admired by another. I wish that you would admire my work enough to own it for yourself. I can only hope that perhaps you would admire it so much that you might be tempted to call it art.
